Power from the Beyond – App Upgrades & Warp Energy
Hey everyone,
So I woke up to some fantastic news this morning: we smashed through the £25k stretch goal, unlocking the Warp Siphon Tokens!
Then, just to keep the momentum going, you pushed us even further and unlocked the £30k App Development stretch goal! And as I’m writing this, we’re now charging straight toward £35k... what lies beyond? We’ll find out soon!
Thank you so much to everyone who’s backed, commented, shared kind words, or shouted about the campaign online. Your support is what’s made this campaign such a runaway success, we genuinely can’t do it without you. If you’re enjoying what we’re building here, please consider sharing the project with your gaming groups or hobby communities so we can keep unlocking even more!
We also sponsored a video with the wonderful crew at TableTop Time, and it just went live!
In this fantastic video, they use a mix of tiles from our first campaign and Imperia Hexica to create a miniature sci-fi world map for their own setting. It’s got planning, printing, painting, and a whole lot of creativity - plus the results look amazing. It’s a great showcase of how these tiles can support your own worldbuilding, both fantasy and sci-fi.
Now lets shine a spotlight on a specific tile to help give us some context for our next unlocked stretchgoal -
A marvel of arcano-industrial engineering (or an unforgivable breach of natural law, depending on who you ask), the Quantum Warp Siphon is an experimental energy converter that draws volatile power from the howling void between dimensions.
By tearing a rift in space-time and anchoring it within a reinforced containment field, the siphon harvests raw warp energies and transmutes them into "safe" usable power for hive cities, military outposts, or desperate fringe colonies.
Of course, safe is a relative term. Even minor fluctuations in the field matrix can result in catastrophic energy discharge, spatial distortion, or a spontaneous reality cascade. But hey — progress doesn’t come without a few melted test subjects. Even if those subjects happen to be cities, continents... or the occasional planet.
The tile itself belongs to the Power Plants set - part of the 'dark age of industry' and 'dominion' pledges.
£20k - Warp Siphon Tokens
So what does the stretchgoal unlock?
We’ll be designing:
A token representing an operational Warp Siphon, complete with a swirling core of stabilized dimensional energy.
And one to show what happens when things go very, very wrong.
Perfect for scenarios, objectives, or just adding a dangerously unstable centerpiece to your tabletop.
£30k – Web App Development Support
This goal means a lot to us.
Rather than introducing something brand new, this unlock is all about continuing development on our free web app, helping push it closer to where we’ve always envisioned it. The app is already super useful, but a few key features still need some finishing touches. This stretch goal helps us fund two of the most important ones:
Mega Hex Support (Finally!)
This one’s been trickier than expected! When we first asked our developers to implement support for 3-tile combos, we didn’t fully think through how those combos would behave when rotated. Turns out, rotating grouped hexes gets complicated fast, especially when trying to keep everything aligned and snapping together cleanly.
It’s almost there, but needs a bit more work to feel seamless. This goal helps us get it over the finish line.
Tile Pathfinding – Phase One
This lays the foundation for more advanced pathfinding tools in the future - including features like auto map generation. For now, we’re focusing on functionality that lets users easily draw out roads, rivers, coastlines, and other connected paths across their maps.
It’s been a little while since we last looked at this feature, so we’ll be checking back in with our app developers to get back up to speed. We know it’s very close - the main hurdle is updating how our database handles tile connection data, and this funding makes that possible.
We’ve been covering development costs out of pocket until now, but it’s no small task. Paying talented people fairly for their time is really important to us, and this stretch goal allows us to do that while pushing the app closer to the intuitive, creative tool we want it to be - something that feels more like a hobbyist’s playground than a developer tool.
That’s all from us for now. Thank you again for an incredible day! We’ll be back with more updates (and more stretch goals) soon, but for now it’s time to get some rest and let the warp cores cool down.
Sleep well, share the campaign if you can, and we’ll see you on the other side of the rift 🌌
Keep it hexy,
Dan & Jax
